Organize feedback by product or product area
Growth Plan Feature
Products are available on the Growth plan and above. Organize your feedback across multiple products and get dedicated analytics for each product area.
View PricingOverview
If your company has multiple products — or a single product with distinct areas (e.g., mobile app, web app, API) — the Products feature lets you organize feedback by product. Each product gets its own backlog, analytics, and signal scores so product managers can focus on what matters to their area.
Products complement categories and tags. Think of products as the top-level organizational unit: a product contains ideas, and each idea can have categories and tags within it.
Creating Products
1Navigate to Products
Go to Settings → Products in your workspace. Click "Add Product" to create a new product.
2Configure the Product
Each product has the following settings:
Assigning Ideas to Products
Ideas can be assigned to a product manually or automatically:
Manual assignment
Open an idea and select a product from the product dropdown. You can also assign products in bulk by selecting multiple ideas and using the bulk actions menu.
AI auto-assignment
IdeaLift's AI analyzes incoming ideas and suggests the most relevant product based on the idea content and your product descriptions. High-confidence matches are assigned automatically.
Source-based routing
Route ideas from specific sources to a product automatically. For example, direct all feedback from your mobile app's widget to the "Mobile App" product.
Product-Level Analytics
Dedicated Dashboards
Each product gets its own analytics dashboard showing:
- •Idea volume — How many ideas are submitted for this product over time
- •Top categories — Which categories dominate this product's feedback
- •Signal scores — Highest-signal ideas specific to this product
- •Source breakdown — Where this product's feedback is coming from
Cross-Product Comparison
Compare feedback volume, signal scores, and decision rates across products in a single view. Identify which products are generating the most demand and where your team should focus attention.
Multi-Product Workspaces
When you have multiple products, IdeaLift adjusts the experience to keep things organized:
- •Product switcher — A selector appears in the sidebar to filter the entire view by product
- •Scoped notifications — Team members only receive notifications for products they are assigned to
- •Per-product roadmaps — Create separate public roadmaps for each product if needed
- •Cross-product ideas — Some ideas span products; leave them unassigned or create a shared product area
Best Practices
- 💡Start with 2-5 products — you can always split them later as your organization grows
- 💡Write clear product descriptions so AI auto-assignment is accurate
- 💡Assign a default owner for each product so new feedback always has someone responsible
- 💡Review unassigned ideas weekly — they may need to be routed to the correct product
