Our Commitment
Startvest LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We are continually improving the user experience of IdeaLift and applying the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
Conformance Standard
IdeaLift aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
We are actively working toward full Level AA conformance across all areas of the IdeaLift platform. This is an ongoing effort, and we are making continuous improvements.
Accessibility Features
IdeaLift includes the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard navigation — All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard
- Screen reader support — Semantic HTML, ARIA landmarks, and live regions for dynamic content
- Skip navigation — A “Skip to main content” link is provided on all pages
- Color contrast — Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Focus indicators — Visible focus rings on all interactive elements for keyboard users
- Text resizing — Content remains usable when text is resized up to 200%
- Dark mode — A system-respecting dark theme with maintained contrast ratios
- Form accessibility — Labels, error messages, and instructions are programmatically associated with form controls
- Page titles — Unique, descriptive titles on all pages
- Language declaration — The page language is declared for assistive technologies
Known Limitations
We are aware of the following accessibility limitations and are actively working to resolve them:
- Third-party content — Some embedded content from third-party services (e.g. video players, analytics widgets) may not fully meet accessibility standards
- Complex data visualizations — Some charts and graphs may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We provide text alternatives where possible
- Older pages — Some legacy pages are being updated incrementally to meet current standards
Compatibility
IdeaLift is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:
- Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
- Screen magnification software
- Speech recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
- Keyboard-only navigation
- Browser accessibility settings (high contrast mode, text scaling)
IdeaLift is tested in the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
Assessment Approach
We assess accessibility through the following methods:
- Automated testing — Regular scans using accessibility linting tools integrated into our development pipeline
- Manual testing — Keyboard-only and screen reader testing during development and code review
- Standards review — Code audits against WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria across all four principles (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust)
- User feedback — Accessibility issues reported by users are prioritized and tracked

Continuous Improvement
We view accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time project. Our development team reviews accessibility as part of our standard code review process, and we are committed to addressing issues promptly as they are identified.
