Migrate from Asana
Move your tasks and feature requests to IdeaLift in minutes
Migration Overview
Export your Asana project as CSV and upload to IdeaLift. Our Asana preset recognizes column formats including Task Name, Description, Section/Column, Tags, and more.
Note: Asana exports one project at a time. Subtask nesting is lost in CSV export — all tasks appear as flat rows.

Status Mapping
Asana board sections are mapped to IdeaLift statuses. Common section names are recognized automatically:
| Asana Section | IdeaLift Status |
|---|---|
| New Requests / Backlog | Captured |
| Under Review / In Review | Under Review |
| Approved / Up Next | Planned |
| In Progress / Doing | In Progress |
| Complete / Done | Shipped |
| Won't Do / On Hold | Archived |
Tips
- Asana sections become status values. If your board uses custom section names, you can adjust the column mapping before importing.
- For multiple projects, export and import each one separately. Use the "Skip Duplicates" option to prevent double-importing shared tasks.
- Subtasks in Asana are flattened during CSV export. They'll appear as individual ideas in IdeaLift.
