Customers
Organize feedback by customer and track feature requests per account.
Overview
Feedback is more useful when you know who it came from. The Customers view links every idea to the person or company that requested it, giving you a complete picture of what each account needs.
This lets you answer questions like: “What has Acme Corp asked for this quarter?” or “Which feature would satisfy our top 5 accounts by revenue?”
Customer Attribution
IdeaLift automatically attributes ideas to customers based on the source:
| Source | Attribution Method | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|
| Slack / Discord / Teams | Username and email from profile | Automatic |
| Zendesk / Intercom / Freshdesk | Customer email from ticket | Automatic |
| GitHub Issues | GitHub username | Automatic |
| CSV / Manual import | Mapped during import | Manual |
| CRM sync (HubSpot, Salesforce) | Email match to CRM contact/company | Automatic |
When automatic attribution cannot determine the customer, ideas appear in an “Unattributed” queue where you can manually assign them.
Viewing Customer Profiles
Each customer has a profile page showing their complete feedback history. Access it from Customers in the main navigation, or click any customer name on an idea.
- •All ideas from this customer — Every feature request, bug report, and piece of feedback they have submitted
- •Idea status breakdown — How many of their ideas are new, approved, shipped, or rejected
- •Activity timeline — When they last submitted feedback and how often they contribute
- •Account metadata — Company name, plan tier, and revenue (when synced from CRM)
Revenue-Weighted Prioritization
Not all feedback carries equal weight. A feature request from a customer paying $50,000/year has different strategic value than one from a free-tier user. Revenue-weighted prioritization factors account value into idea scoring.
Revenue impact score
Each idea shows the total ARR of customers requesting it. Ideas with higher combined revenue rank higher in prioritization views.
Churn risk indicator
When high-value customers submit multiple unresolved requests, IdeaLift flags them as potential churn risks.
Revenue filter
Filter ideas by customer tier (enterprise, mid-market, SMB) to focus on the segment that matters most for your current goals.
CRM Integration
Connect your CRM to enrich customer profiles with account data, revenue figures, and deal stages.
HubSpot
Syncs contacts, companies, and deal values. Customer feedback is automatically linked to HubSpot company records by email domain.
- • Two-way sync: feedback activity appears on HubSpot timeline
- • Deal stage data enriches revenue-weighted scoring
- • Custom properties can be synced to IdeaLift fields
Salesforce
Syncs accounts, contacts, and opportunity values. Uses Salesforce account hierarchy for multi-subsidiary customers.
- • Maps feedback to Salesforce accounts by email or domain
- • Opportunity data drives revenue-weighted prioritization
- • Supports Salesforce Sandbox for testing
Set up CRM integrations under Settings > Integrations > CRM.
Scale plan for revenue weighting
Customer profiles are available on all paid plans. Revenue-weighted prioritization and CRM integration require the Scale plan. See pricing for details.
